Tests For HDPE Spiral Pipes & Fittings
Tests Test Standard Description of the test
Determination of Dimensions TS EN ISO 3126 Measuring and assesment the geometric properties of pipes for compliance with the relevant pipe production standards and customer technical specification requirements.
Determination of Ring Flexibility
EN 16961-1 & 2
TS 12132
(P.2.3.7)
The ring flexibility of a pipe is determined by measuring the strength applied until a deformation of a minimum of 30% occurs on the diameter of a ring-shaped section of the pipe, at a fixed speed, or until breakage occurs before such a level of deformation is reached, and the measurement of the deformation which occurs.
Strength of Welded Joints
EN 16961-1 & 2
TS 12132
(P.2.3.4)
When the weld joints of the pipes are tested by applying a force of 1 kN, no visible separation should occur.
Determination of Joints Tightness
EN 16961-1 & 2
TS 12132
(P.2.3.5)
A flat plate on a 300 mm long test piece is placed so that the long edge is parallel to a certain distance instead of the lock. The force applied to the test piece at a constant speed is increased until the release of the lock is seen. Force applied during separation recorded. The measured force must not be less than the required force.
Resistance to Root Penetration
EN 16961-1 & 2
TS 12132
(P.2.3.6)
A test piece is removed from the tube by means of a lock. The strength of the locating mechanism is determined by the pulling force. When the pipes are tested by applying a force of 1 kN no visible separation should occur.
Determination of Melt Mass Flow Rate (MFR) TS EN ISO 1133-1
(Metot A)
The melting flow index is the measure of the amount of the flow of the material flowing from a mould of a certain length and size, at a specific volume and temperature, during the required period. The MFR value varies according to the chain length and density values of the material. It plays an important role in the determination of the parameters in the processing and welding processes of the materials.
Ring Stiffness Test (Sr24h)
EN 16961-1 & 2
TS 12132:1997
(P.2.3.3)
The ring stiffness can be indicated as the SR24 or SN value. However, both ring stiffnesses cannot be compared with each other. The differences result from the mathematical relationship, the test method and thetest duration. When measured 24 hours after applying the test force , the mean vertical deflection to the inside diameter before testing, shall be no greater than 3% of inner diameter.
Determination of Density TS EN ISO 1183-1
(Metot A)
The density value in plastic materials varies according to the chain structure of the material. Density provides information concerning the class and degree of crystallinity of a material. As the crystallinity rate increases, the density and resistance values of the material also display an increase in general.
